Immigration Reform
Support comprehensive immigration reform by encouraging the U.S. House of Representatives to follow the Senate in passing legislation that can be sent to the President in 2014. Such legislation:
- Strengthens our border security
- Reforms our H1B visa program to address current and future needs for high and low-skilled workers
- Creates a national employment verification system that will free our businesses from the burden of worrying about who they hire and allow them to focus on the jobs they do
- Develops a pathway to conditional legal status for the estimated 11 million undocumented individuals living in the United States that comes with strict conditions
- Provides opportunity for individuals who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children to achieve legal residency and future citizenship

Forest Health
Work with officials in Congress and federal agencies to ensure the health of the Coconino, Kaibab, Apache-Sitgreaves, and Tonto National Forests through the Four Forest Restoration Initiative (4FRI).
- Support Senator Flake’s legislation, S.1300: Stewardship Contracting Reauthorization and Improvement Act
- Strengthen our relationship with the forest contractors
- Work with allied Flagstaff organizations such as NAU, ECONA, the Chamber Alliance of - Northern Arizona and the city to jointly advocate for federal oversight of 4FRI

Energy
Work to protect our region from burdensome new energy regulations being imposed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that will increase our utility rates and cost us jobs.
- Support the Navajo Generating Station (NGS) coal plant which will provide over $20 billion over the next 30 years in economic output to the state, and continue to generate over 1,000 jobs along with the Kayenta coal mine
- Work with our federal representatives to see that the EPA’s regulations will not continue to circumvent Congressional authority
- Support the U.S. Chamber’s amicus brief before the U.S. Supreme Court that considers the actions of the EPA and its detriment to local economies
